Supporting Every Young Person to Thrive at Springwell Lincolnshire

At Springwell Lincolnshire, we provide a nurturing and developmental environment where every young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is known, valued, and empowered to succeed.

As a collection of specialist alternative provisions, we are dedicated to supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our mission is to re-engage students in their education and guide them towards a positive future, whether that involves returning to mainstream schooling, transitioning to a specialist setting, or preparing for post-16 education, employment, or training.

Our approach is built on a foundation of unconditional positive regard, trauma-informed practice, and a culture of nurture and support. We believe in second chances and are committed to understanding the individual challenges each young person faces.

A Personalised and Developmental Journey

We recognise that every student’s journey is unique. Our curriculum is not defined by age, but by individual starting points and developmental needs. Upon joining us, each young person undergoes a comprehensive assessment, including the use of tools like the Thrive-Online Assessment, to identify their specific academic, social, and emotional needs.

This allows us to create a truly personalised learning plan that focuses on:

  • A Strong Academic Core: We place a significant emphasis on developing essential literacy and numeracy skills, which are the building blocks for all other learning.
  • Social and Emotional Development: Our curriculum has a strong focus on Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education. We explicitly teach strategies for self-regulation and resilience, helping students to better understand and manage their emotions.
  • Removing Barriers to Learning: With small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio, we provide intensive support to address individual barriers, ensuring every young person has the opportunity to achieve.
  • Enrichment and Life Skills: We offer a wide range of enrichment activities outside of the classroom, providing students with new experiences and opportunities to develop vital life skills and build confidence.

A Partnership with Families

We understand that supporting a young person with SEND is a collaborative effort. We are committed to working in close partnership with parents and carers. Our dedicated Pupil and Parent Support Team is always available to offer guidance, and we maintain regular contact to keep you informed about your child’s progress. By working together, we can face challenges and celebrate successes, making a real and lasting difference.

Whether a student is with us for a short-term intervention placement or until they complete their Key Stage 4 studies, our goal remains the same: to provide them with the support, skills, and confidence they need to take their next steps successfully.

To find out more about our provision or to discuss your child’s specific needs, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our dedicated team.
